What I would do is find graphedit, and then drop a tp file in there, it should give you an idea of what's going on.
Make sure and disable ffdshow if you've got that installed. |

You guys are now certainly on to something here...... I downloaded the clips from DVICO again, this time on my laptop (not one of the two PCs previously mentioned) and it played back just fine on WMP. So, I guess I definitely have SOMETHING going on with my two other desktops at home that has fooled with the decoder for these .tp files. Stacy |

Here in Seattle one cable company has the locals at 2 or 3 channels to avoid the issue. |

Stanger89, the main difference I can think of between my configuration and yours is that I have a Fusion 5 Lite card as opposed to the Avermedia. There is probably something that needs to be done in SageTV to fix this. Unless of course there is something broken in my SageTV installation. I wish there was one person that can confirm this with a Fusion 5 Lite card and SageTV 3.0.x

If there is a difference, I would guess it's in the PSIP data. I seriously doubt the fusion drivers are doing anything weird. Might want to check out a recoding with TSReader.

I'm not sure what to do with RSReader. It's asking for an input source.
I just tried DIVCO Fusion's proprietary software and it produced a .tp file that is full compatible with Windows Media Player. So now I know the problem is either going to be the way SageTV talks to the driver or a component of SageTV 3.0.x is broken (only allowing the .ts file produced to be played in SageTV). I'm not too sure what to do. |

I have a Fusion3 Gold and the files that Sage makes are very playable in WMP.
Goodspike, I was refering to HDTV signals, which are always UHF (ch.14-68) signals of different modulation and frequency than what is broadcast on cable. |

Stanger, all my installed decoders (including Nvidia and Dscaler) playback .tp files recorded by the proprietary DIVCO app just fine; same ATSC channels/subchannels. These decoders also playback the same subchannels recorded with a complete separate ATSC capture card. So, it's not because of unusual PIDs nor PSIP data....
I am starting to think there is a component of my SageTV installation which is broken. I've only been installing betas on top of older installations; including SageTV 2.2.8 I will post after doing a clean install... |

So what is this supposed to look like? How do I change the default renderer or something so I can use the Fusion card? I ran the graphedit program and, honestly, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Stacy |

If he's been trying to play it back using the MyHD renderer, then we've all been barking up the wrong tree.

The MyHD card will playback files created by the Fusion software (although sometimes the file has issues that relate to FF/REW and keeping track of time functions). So somehow the Sage software, while creating a TP file, is affecting the TP file. Edit: Going back and looking at prior posts he does mention WMP a lot, but I think he's trying a number of things.
