Looks like my antenna is coming tonight, so I don't think I'm going to get to release a new version afterall, I'm going to be mounting the antenna instead and watching some HDTV

KJake you're killing us!!

just kidding! It's good to see that you've actually picked the project back up and have started re-writing it! That's VERY exciting news!

I read that in the "next release" you plan on adding commercial cutting and ISO recording. What is this program actually capable of doing right now? I will gladly help test this thing out! I bought a DVD RW drive for my HTPC specifically to burn some shows to DVD (oh, and play DVD's! )

Thanks for all of your help KJake, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us.

Good luck with your HD antenna!

Not implemented yet. You can burn the ISO using any number of normal tools (Roxio, Nero, DVD Decrypter, XP CDBurner Pro, etc...).

That's good to hear iain! Thanks for the feedback

Sorry I haven't released another version yet as I promised a while back. I technically work 2 jobs and the second job has gotten busy lately. At least the current release seems to work OK, but I really need to fix those bugs with the description and I need to do a mini rewrite to clean up some code (didn't make very good use of functions so there is a lot of repeating code that could be chopped out)...

anyway, i will find the time, soon I hope.

Progress has been slow. I've been putting in a lot of extra (unpaid) hours at work lately and haven't felt up to programming at night.

How is the program working in its current state for you? Is there a particular feature you'd like me to focus on for the next release?

I'll try to release my bug fix version very soon.

I am having a little trouble setting this up.

will this work on a client as well. I don't want to change my server from the default stv. My wife would kill me if I tried that. not to mention my burner in my server is old and slow. my client has better hardware.

Quote:
15) Go back to the Home/Main Screen
16) Select Media on the menu and cursor to the right and then move down
17) Select DVD Burner
I installed the Meekel stv, no problems
Ran the 0.5.3alpha install afterwards.
went through the instructions and everything was fine until #17. there wasn't a select DVD Burner option.

I think the DVD Burner link from the media menu was dropped another way to get there

I think the DVD Burner link from the media menu was dropped in mekeel 0 5 0

The way I've been getting in which is a bit of a kludge is:
'My Shows'
'Recordings'
Click on a show to be burned
Click 'More Options'
Click 'Add to DVD List'
It will resond with 'This Show has been added to you DVD Burn...'
Click 'OK'
* repeat for all shows to be added
when you've added all the shows to be burned
Click 'Show DVD List' from the 'More Options' Menu
The 'Show DVD List' page has the burn command on it

Hope this helps ...

Bobby

ps -- meekell 045 or 046 had a more direct approach

You guys have to enable DVD Burning in the Settings Menu -> Advanced -> External Setup.

I also have a handy (though slightly out of date for the current DVD burning) FAQ/Installation page on my site:

http://www.vinceanido.com/blog/installing-the-stv/

I am planning on updating things soon, though unfortunately things have been pretty hectic for some time and my hobby-time has been reduced dramatically. I hope to find time after my taxes are turned in, as I have a lot of new ideas to implement along with getting more accurate status reporting for this plugin.
