yup. Real-life has been taxing lately but I'm making progress. I should have a new version in a week or so with lots of new goodies.

This STV is the best so far. Do you think the 'option' of sounds could be added? I have a rather long USB-UIRT and it would be helpful to have a nice little 'tick' sound or something when I am navigating. It could even be set to off by default if others don't like it. What do you think? I am SO looking forward to your next release! You're awesome crash!

Snoopy: Yeah, I can look into that, for sure. Probably not this next version, but maybe the one after that.

hoep: I'm afraid to mention anything in particular because I have such limited time to work on it these days, I don't want to promise anything that might get pushed to the next version simply because I want to get a release out and can't track down a bug.

I will say that I'm working on getting a bunch of the imports implemented, and bug fixes are taking up a lot of time too.

After this release, the next big thing I have to work on is a customizeable menu system. The ground work is there, I just need to figure out a good interface to make it work.

I'm so sorry I haven't posted.

I was nearly ready for a release last week when my development machine got a corrupted registry, then when I was rescuing files, I forgot my newest STV.

As a result, I'm having to re-do a bunch of stuff. I'm very sorry about this, and hope to have a new version with mainly bug fixes out soon.

Arrow File Recovery

Actually you might be able get that data back! I have a program that might help you. Since the licensing allows only one machine at a time, I will uninstall it and let you use it if you wish. I had the same situation with a file last year. I am also in the PC repair business and so data recovery is a big part of my job although I rarely have to use data recovery tools to do it. What happened to me is essentially the same thing. I had a file I forgot when I formated and reloaded my Windows software. Interestingly enough, this tool was able to recover the lost file. Since I also knew the exact name of it, it was even easier. Your data never actually gets erased by normal means. It only gets overwritten. I am sure you already knew that but let me explain further how you might be able to get it back!

Well yes, you format the drive and write new information over the old so it's gone, right? Not so in many cases. Generally, the new information and OS takes up far less space than the old OS and information no longer visable to you. There is actually a chance and a big one, that the sector containing the old .stv file is in a 'deeper' location (so to speak) on your hard drive than where any new information has been written. That isn't always true though because what a hard drive actually does is fragment along the way and the fragments are filled with new info. BUT... Like I said, there is a BIG chance that the file you want to recover is in a sector that won't be written to for some time. Let me know if I can help with that Malore. It's really simple to see if it's still there. It was in my case, even after reformatting and a new OS was installed.

Oh gosh. I'm SO SORRY.

I have just been inundated lately with real-life work, my blog, and finding time for my hobbies along with my new wife, I'm doing a crappy job finding time for this project.

I have however found a day - Sunday. Nicole (my wife) has to work all day, so I should be able to get something out for Monday release. I can't promise how much new stuff there will be, but it will be more of a 'good faith' release, to show that I haven't abandoned you all.

badllama - I don't think any STV imports will work with this STV since it isn't based on the original STV. I do have plans to implement all those imports though, so I'll take that as a feature request and see what I can do.

This goes for everyone using this STV, or _wanting_ to use this STV - if you don't let me know specifically what you're missing, I can't add it. Please voice your opinion.

Thank you all for understanding - I hope to get you some new stuff to play with soon.

-Vince

Integrating ShowAnalyzer and VideoReDo with DVDcreation

Just reading through the STV and features- just wondering if it would be possible to add autocomskips (comskip or ShowAnalyzer)+ videoRedo editing prior to entering the DVD burn mode - as an option for a sort of one step edit/DVD backup?

For those of you pinging my site checking for the release, you can always subscribe to my RSS feed and find out immediately. Please use discression though, and don't set your RSS aggregator to check every 5 minutes.

FWIW, I'm working on some bugs, it might not get out tonight. Hopefully tomorrow night at the latest.

Bugs everywhere!

I got a little over zealous and now have painted myself into a corner. I have a trip to Chicago this weekend, so I have a couple of long flights on which to work solely on this STV.

Please be patient.
