No problem, it's sometimes hard to find what you are looking for in all those settings.

Wishful thinking, but maybe its in there and I've just missed it...

Is there a way to delay showanalyzer or Comskip for that matter from starting immediately after the machine comes from a sleep state? There have been several times where I thought that Sage had crashed from awakening from sleep, when in reality SA or CS had just actually tied up the processor so much that Java wasn't able to update the screen. A second option is if comskip supports processor throttling, as its definitely broken in showanalyzer.

Well after a year of great performance with SA, it is constantly popping up with an error report, it will not stop.

It was working fine with HD, now fails on about 25% of the recrodings. Oddly it occured at the same time I upgraded to Sage 6.2.

I find that some of my HD recordings do this. This seems to happen more often when I'm doing something that's disk or processing intensive while recording . I'm guessing stream errors since a quick pass through VideoRedo (also converting from TS to MPG) makes them work just fine. And the TS->MPG does not recode the video or audio in any way -- just a container change -- so there's no loss in quality.

Has this also eliminated any chipmunk issues? Doesn't happen often anymore, but once in a while...

FWIW, I upgraded my HDHR software/firmware and things are running smoothly again.

Jere,

I've been having problems with SA getting hung on 0kb-small files. It will just sit. I've attached one such file (remove the ".txt").
Attached Files
File Type: txt BlackLagoon-MoonlitHuntingGrounds-4151641-0.mpg.txt (2.0 KB, 177 views)

Ok. I'll take a look at it.

Found and fixed. The next version of SA will be released Friday (March 14th).

The option to output an .aspects file that contains the aspect ratios throughout the file. The idea being that it would allow SageTV to dynamically change the zoom depending on the aspect ratio of that segment, not just the entire file. The discussion on my forums is here: http://www.dragonglobal.org/forums/showthread.php?t=809

There will also be some corrections to how SA handles US closed captions and, if I can finish it in time, enabling European Teletext (fingers crossed).

Thanks for the aspect ratio feature Jere, I tried to champion that a couple years ago. Here I tried to get neilm to think about rewriting his auto aspect switcher app to read files etc. Sounds like its actually going to happen now. Cool.

On a side note I am running 0.9.2.232 and it hangs up with no cpu usage on certain digital recordings. I record off of firewre and have a hvr 1600 for QAM. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't Should I send/upload you a recording the next time I identiry one? If so where to? Thanks.

I'm looking forward to a STVi for SageTV myself. I can't do it, but there are some extremely talented people out there. I've been out of the loop lately. In a world where the aspect ratio of the shows we watch doesn't always match the aspect ratio of the tv we watch it on, this seems like an excellent idea.

I'll send you a PM with the instructions.

Thanks,
Jere

0.9.3
- Added aspect ratio output.
- Fixed hang on small files and just beginning recordings. This will probably fix a LOT of hangs.
- Corrected early quit when a Closed Caption character cannot be converted to an 8 bit character.
- Removed buffer clearing when a Resume Caption Loading or a Resume Direct Captioning is received.

If there are no showstopping bugs that cause me to release something sooner, the next release will be in two weeks on 28 March.

Enjoy,
Jere

So does SageMC allow automatic aspect ratio switching with a file, or is that something that will have to be added?

As far as I know, nothing does it. There hasn't been anything that made this information available until now. I'm hopeful that someone will make an STVi soon.

And remember, it isn't a 'per-file' switch. It is a 'per-frame' switch.

ok, now that's a really cool

Out of curiousity, what would it do for letter boxed SDTV in a 16:9 HDTV stream (I saw this yesterday on Sci-Fi HD and I died a little on the inside )?
