  1. right click "my computer", select "properties".
  2. on the system properties window that appears, select the "Advanced" tab
  3. on this tab at the bottom you'll see a button labled "Error Reporting", press it.
  4. The window that appears now allows you to setup the options. I ended up selecting "Disable error reporting" and NOT checking "But notify me when..."

If you're experiencing crashes, try this: http://www.dragonglobal.org/forums/s...1&postcount=27

0.7.6 had some widespread crashing problems so I withdrew it until I could find the problem. The above post is my attempt at squashing the problem.

0.7.7 - 18 July 2006
- Fixed self inflicted bug causing many many crashes. (Sorry about that)
- Added ability to prevent the computer from going into standby.
- Fixed numerous logic bugs that seem to be the cause of all the latest crashes.

Thanks to the generous uploads, I think I have it this time. {fingers crossed}

Caveat: This is using SageMC, and since that's the only STV I've ever used SA with, I have no idea if this is specific to MC or not...

Situation: I'm trying to adjust the SA settings to get better commercial recognition for my programs, which are 100% HD (US). Currently I get about 50% accuracy. (I haven't gotten into figuring out all the tweaking yet, so this isn't really what I'm asking about here, but if anyone does have any good settings that work for HD material, please feel free to share!) My current issue is that as I try to adjust the settings and re-run SA on shows to compare results, Sage isn't recognizing that there's a new .txt file created and is still showing the same commercial blocks on the timeline from the first time I ran SA.

I deleted the .txt and .edl files that were created for the two shows I've done this one, and re-ran them both using SA. New .txt files were created that looked promising (in that they seemed to show more commercials detected than the first time through) but when I go back into sage to play them again, it still shows the results from the first run. I can tell for sure because on the first run one of the shows didn't have anything detected (in sage or the txt file) and now it has multiple commercial blocks showing in the txt, but still nothing in Sage.

Is there a way to get Sage to "forget" the results from before? I thought it just looked for the .txt file as it was being played, but it seems to be storing the information somewhere...

Thanks!

I haven't fooled with SA in awhile, but you should be able to use School House to tweak it. In which case you don't have to re-run SA on the shows. You'd simply make your changes and it will apply them instantly. School House also has a viewer so you can see where the breaks are in the show. So there is no need to open Sage to check the changes.

Unfortunately, from what I found it looks like School House is not currently available due to some "issues" and will fixed for the next version. And previous versions of School House apparently won't work with the current version of SA, so no go there...

Anyone else have any ideas on how to "refresh" the commercial gaps after re-running SA?

I want to try to tweak the settings to get more accurate results, but I don't want to have to wait for it to record an entire new program each time to see how it did. Also, it doesn't seem very helpful as a comparison since it won't be the same show.

Are you running the latest version of SageMC or an older one? Unless the STV you're using has the older comskip import it should see the changes. The latest import does recheck the .txt file. Anyway your problem is the comskip import your STV is using. If you can't find a version of SageMC that uses the newer comskip import you can always import the comskip STVi into the stock STV to test your tweaking.

I'm using the latest SageMC 6.7, so I'm not importing a comskip import at all. I have no idea if SageMC is using an old or new version of the import though, so maybe that's the problem.

Your suggestion of using the stock STV to test the tweaking is a good one. Also good to know that at least the latest comskip import does refresh the .txt file. I'll give that a shot.

Thanks!

My sage will reread the show.txt file if it's deleted and regenerated. You may need to reset watched.

Two easy ways, delete the txt file and let the comskip/SA manager (eg dirmon) run SA again. Two, start SA manually (from the start menu) and pick the file.

This is what I did (the second way). Changed the settings in SA and re-ran it manually on the shows. I can tell it worked (other than just seeing it running) because the resulting .txt files are different than they were before I re-ran it. My issue is getting SageMC to use the new .txt files. It's still showing (and using) the commercial breaks from the old .txt files, even though they've been replaced.

davidk: is "my sage" SageMC, or are you using the standard STV with the comskip import?

That's kind of weird, did you restart the file? I think SageMC may only load the file at the start.

I'm using standard sage TV v5.0.4.92, and it announces itself as the media center edition. (Installed from SageTV_V5_0_4Setup.exe).

EDIT: And, if I start watching a show while show analyzer is running (say 15 minutes into it), it'll add the commercials as SA finds them.

SageMC is a custom STV. You're using the stock STV with the comskip import, it's not the same thing popechild is running.

We had a baby girl born this morning, so if I'm not around for a few days, I hope you'll understand.
