That's easy enough to fix. Thanks for letting me know!

Anybody want to share their showanalyzer settings? Since the newest builds, my systems been all screwed. It no longer produces results consistantly.

With the old version it was rock solid.

I'm using canadian digital cable.

Do you mean that if you run SA against the same file more than once you get inconsistent results?

Below are the settings that I have been using for a while now. They are a cut and paste from another user's settings I think I found on Jere's site. Of late I've been really happy with them as being spot-on. This is for the 7.2 version. I haven't used his latest/greatest simply because I am not having any problems with SA (that I'm aware of)...

Keep in mind, this is for Washington (state) Comcast cable.

No I ment that some shows seem to get detected perfectly, while others have no results at all.

Jere, I am using 3 minute show padding on most of my shows. SA is not marking the first few minutes of commercials. Is there anything I can do to get SA to pickup those first couple of minutes of comercials?

I am running version 5,7 and it seemed like in one of your previous versions it worked fine, although I don't remember which version. I have also tried sliding the analysis bar to the left.

0.7.6 - 7 July 2006
- Fixed bug causing 0fps and excessive memory usage when processing program stream files with AC3 audio.
- Change version numbers so all files reflect the same build number.
- Fixed bug caused by 0 length packets.

Hopefully, this takes care of all the crashes. {fingers crossed}

Turn on "Save Log to Disk" and set the logging level to 1. Then send that to me and I'll see if there is an easy fix.

DirMon2 & Triggers

Can someone please explain to me the right settingsfor "triggers" within DirMon2 build 5.7.25. My problem seems to be that it processes the same *.mpg file with ShowAnalyzer 7.6.0 (registered) over and over. Currently at:

MUST EXIST:..........MPG or _____
.................................AND
MUST NOT EXIST: _____ or _____

Ideas?

Thanks

That works so long as you're not having the crashing issue. I ended up setting it so that txt AND log must not exist - that way if it crashes after creating a blank log file it'll not sit and keep trying to rerun the same problematic file.

Ahh, good idea. I'll use it. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey Jere, along these lines, do you have any insights as the types of files that are causing errors, etc.? Seems like some are great, and others, well, I found 90+SA icons in my SysTray the other day as it kept trying to reprocess something. Any data, file uploads, data tracking I can do on my end to help you develop a more robust solution? Sorry, I have limited to no coding experience and, please don't take this wrong, love the program, not meant in any way as a slam. After all, you are still calling it "Beta."

Have you found a file that consistantly fails?

Jere

I did. Yesterday I had one that immediately crashed SA every time. Unfortunately, I deleted it before thinking of sending it to you for troubleshooting. If I get another I will let you know. I've also been getting a lot of SA crashes in the last 3 or so versions so it probably won't take long.

BTW, I don't do any HDTV yet, all standard def via PVR 250 cards.

I had a VHS video that I recorded into Sage that gave SA a lot of problems (ran CPU up to 100% and would repeatedly crash). Obviously this video had no commericals at all so I put in an exclusion regex in dirmon to not process these kinds of files.

I have at least one that consistently fails (hence why I changed Dirmon to ignore processing a file if just a log file existed) to even start. A blank log file is created and then the program crashes (I also learned how to get rid of the error reporting window in XP). Oddly enough, the same program recorded either right before or right after the one that fails processed just fine (i.e. same ch, same day, different times). So it's almost like it's related to how Sage handles back to back recordings...?

Anyway, if you would like any of the files, let me know and I'll see about getting you a few chunks.
