For those trying (and failing) to get to my website/forums today. They're back up after being completely redone.

After being so impressed with this forum's software, I decided to switch to vBulletin. Hopefully the board will be easier for y'all to use.

Thanks,
Jere

i run in service mode but i have it setup on the client. like i said, the server webpage correctly shows the Currently Watching when I am watching a show. Pause while recording works.

Pause while recording works but pause while watching doesn't. That's interesting. Especially since the currently watching is in the webpage when you look at it. Parsing the currently watching is much easier than parsing the currently recording because there is only one currently watching, but there can be many currently recordings. At least that gives me a place to start.

It is theoretically possible that the client and the service both have webservers running on differnt ports. I assume you have verified that isn't the case.

I'll get back to you.

Jere

Really? I didn't know. Ok. I'll put it on the (rapidly growing) todo list.

Can you take a look in global.ini and see if the settings are being saved correctly?

You should see something similar to:
Code:
[SageTV]
Pause When Playing = 1
Pause When Recording = 0
I have removed some of the lines, but those two lines are the important ones.

Thanks,
Jere

The upside is they seem to be just a single subchannel. So there should be minimal requirements for dealling with subs.

There is now a bug tracker in the ShowAnalyzer forums. Please but any bugs that need my attention in there. That will help me not forget anyone.

I, of course, will continue to help regardless of which forum or site you use.

txt files ok but skip not working

I switched to dirmon and showanalyzer today. Seems to process files fine, I can watch in dirmon as it cleans up oprhans and detects commercial, I have the showanalyzer status window on. But when i go to watch a show it is not skipping commercials or shows commercials highlighted. an older show which had the txt file created with comskip works fine.

When I view the text files they look very similar, numbers are not exactly the same, I guess they represent com start/stop. The title is the same "FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE" Only difference is the "_" underneath title, comskip the "_" stops at the M in complete and showanalyzer goes to the last E in complete.

Eventhough this is probably something simple, I have read a bunch of post here and on dragon global and can't figure it out.

You need a custom STV to enable Sage to read the SA files. If you're using the V3 Beta look for Nielms Comskip import. For V2 there are a number of STV's that do so.

The number of dashes shouldn't make a difference. Can you post one of your .txt files that SA made?

If it is fine, then the problem should be somewhere else.

I've found that using the default config for SA seems to be very accurate for detecting commercials. However, it appears that it is marking the beginning of the commercial about 4 seconds too soon (this appeared to be the case with all of the shows we watched this weekend). This causes me to have turn off auto comskip, go back and watch the last 4 seconds prior to commercial, turn comskip back on and continue.

Unfortunately this makes it so that I can't auto compskip while watching TV with my wife. She's always like "we missed something, go back!" Even though we basically just miss the fade-out.

Quick question.

SA runs itself on new recordings, correct? If there are recordings in a directory that haven't been processed before having SA installed, will it process those (or is this a feature of Dirmon?)

Should probably add that I'll be using Sage with an STV that supports comskip.

I haven't used SA, but if it works like Comskip then it doesn't process new files. It only processes files that you tell it to. The STV or Dirmon is what tells Comskip which files to process.

You need something (like Dirmon) to tell SA what to process.
