I am going to work on sending keys out now. So if you asked for one, you should get it shortly.

Jere
i sentyou an email about this already but don't know if you're checking it. if i was a beta tester already, do i need ot send more money to get another key or do i get one anyway?

My standing policy is that once you're in, you're in. That means that even if a tester donated the bare minimum of $2.89, they still get this beta and all future versions. I won't reject any additional donations if you have already donated , but they are not required or even requested.

I have a dedicated 3-tuner Sage server that records to D:\SageTV (configured as \\Sageserver\SageTV) and 2 PC clients. Should I run SA/DirMon on the server or put it on another PC and let it work over the 100Mb wired network? I would rather have it run locally on the server (P4 2.4 GHz, 1 GB Ram) but I am afraid it might bog down Sage when it is recording and/or streaming to clients. Also am trying to set up PM to sleep the server in S3. Will SA/DirMon be able to prevent an S3 sleep when it runs?

Best. Utility. Ever.

Been using SA since its first alpha, what can I say but that "Jere Rocks!"

$10 is a steal for this app...

Thanks again Jere, and congrats on going Beta!

I run it on my server4 tuner 1.7 celeron w/ 1Gb and have no problem with it. I am also running in service mode with an additional client running MPV client. I don't think you want to throw the additional traffic on the network.

My suggestion (probably Jere's too ) is to use Dirmon to manage SA. Dirmon will monitor your recording directories and scan any recordings.

Then you will need to use a comskip-compatible STV (this could be neilm's import) in SageTV to read the files SA outputs and let you skip the commercials.

I am still confused I cant seem to get sa to process my video directories I downloaded dirmon but there is not much in the way of docs and im not to brite I added my video directories but I do not no how to configure the rest any help would be appreciated

I am also confused about Dirmon. Like Samson, I added the SageTV recordings directory but it said "Nothing to do... sleeping now...". There are 97 recorded shows there (almost 250 GB).

Ok, I found and read the FAQ on Dirmon. I added SA as the processor and for triggers I added .mpg and .mpeg under Does Exist and .txt under Does Not Exist. Stopped and restarted Dirmon and it looks like its processing the first (of many) shows.

Was this correct?

Regarding the virus warnings, Avast has responded saying that they are false warnings and the virus definitions will be updated.

The post is here.

Thanks,
Jere

Hi Jere,

Are there any advantages / disadvantages of using Dirmon versus the comskip proxy ?

It depends. If you have sage already set up to run comskip and it is working fine and you have no complaints, just use the proxy.

If you want a use an STV that doesn't include running comskip, then DirMon is a good option.

You get this error when you run the DirMon installer? Or when you try to run DirMon itself? Either way, that's wierd because I don't even know what shfoldr.dll is. Can you post a screen shot of the error? What version of windows are you running? Did you get DirMon from the Dragon Global website?

Regarding the comskip proxy: What happens when you double click on the comskip proxy? A dialog should open up asking for a file to process.

Hi. I had setup comskip on my sage install some time ago, but haven't ever used it, because I'm still building my HTPC.

What I'm wondering, is if I need this DirMon software or not? I use mlbdude's SageMC 16x9 STV along with Sage. Also, does there seem to be any issues using V4 of Sage with SA?

I think $10 is an excellent price for this functionallity, and will gladly pay it, after I've tried some things out. Thanks for your work on this...

I'm curious what the following means, in the generated .xml file for each comskipped show... a duration of 'zero'?

---------
<StartTime>9:00:00 AM</StartTime>
<EndTime>9:30:00 AM</EndTime>
<Duration>0 min</Duration>
