I still live in SD land so I don't know. I have been provided a couple HD snippets and they were program streams. But they may have been remuxed.

I run a dedicated Sage server that isn't used for playback and is rarely logged onto so I set up a scheduled task that loads Dirmon at system start. I rebooted the server to test but I am not sure that Dirmon can be loaded like this. If I log on Task Manager does show a Dirmon process but there is no Taskbar icon and it doesn't seem to be calling SA when needed. Any ideas or will I have to stay logged on until Dirmon becomes a service?

Is this a question about ShowAnalzyer or DirMon?

I too would like to know if Comskip can handle TS files. If so, what do I have to tell it to process those files, cause right now it's ignoring them.

TS, but only a single subchannel, not the whole stream.

Sorry guys, I was wrong about comskip. It will process HD files, but can't handle a transport stream.

Mouse Pointer Appearing

Jere, and others.

Have you guys noticed the mouse pointer keeps appearing between shows on Live TV?

I've had this problem for a while now, and some people are "speculating" that it may be SA taking focus away from SageTV, and causing the pointer to show on the screen.

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10573

Anyone else have the issue? Just trying to get an idea if it's common amoung people using SA, or if it happens a lot with people not using SA.

Need to know if I should submit a bug report, or not.

That said, SA needs to be access the current user hive of the registry. I hope that helps explain why SA might be having problems running when not logged in.

If this is due to SA, then turning off the system tray icon may help. It did for me.

Sorry, I tried asking in the DirMon forum @ Dragon Global last week with no response. I didn't see the DirMon thread here or I would have used it. Thanks for the answer though even if I didn't like it.

No big deal. It just help to keep threads on topic. I must have missed where you asked on my forums. Sorry about that. I try to be responsive regardless of the board.

Well, some more people have replied, and a couple people have stated that they don't use comskip, and still have the problem...

When I look at SA screen while it is working on MPEG file I do notice it does show what channel and name of a channel that recording was captured from. Is there any way to have SA config screen selection which channels I would like to skip SA to work on? For example when I use DirMon it picks up all the recordings but if I record something on HBO and it is like 2 hour movie I would like SA to skip it rather than goig trough it finding no commercials. The same thing with certain channels. Is there a way to Configure SA to do that?

Thanks.

Chris

I'm also having the mouse cursor issue, and have had the system tray icon turned off (per your recommendation for another issue). I'm not sure if the focus stealing is related to the mouse cursor issue, but I do know that SA steals focus from Meedio Essentials (and apparently it may do the same to GB-PVR).

Stanger's advice works great, and I quote:

"You have to open up the SA configuration, go to the SageTV tab, then fill in the info for the webserver. Then go to Automatic Profile Selection, and add a profile "DoNotProcess" and then setup the criteria for your movie channels."

This also works for file name, show name and category. That should be able to take care of most anything. When you use this it just makes SA create a 0 byte .txt file for all matching recordings, it's pretty much transparent to DirMon.

I've attached an example screencap below.

Silly question, I suppose, but what is the interaction between SA and Nielm's webserver?

SA uses the webserver to get more information about the show. For example, what channel it was recorded from. That information allows SA to use different settings depending on that information, as per the post 198.
