BTW, malore: if comskip is going to make sure it doesn't run into the end, you could check the videoframe/play_seam_advance property to see how much time it should leave, instead of a hard-coded time.

The .stv should still work, but won't have any of the .stv changes that were made between 3.013 and 4. The import should still work and would give you the latest changes to the default .stv.

Question Custom Guides

I really like the custom guides but was wondering if I can get it to display what I "like" instead of "don't like". Ex: I set title as "NFL" and category as "football"--it lists all kinds of talk shows, etc. as well as "NFL Football".
How can I get it to just list the games and exclude all the other football related shows? Thanks for any help.

Custom Guides with "Star Rating" & "Year" filters!

Malore, I know you probably already saw my last request for this, but I thought I would give you a friendly reminder to PLEASE add "Star Rating" and "Year" filters.

I think most people would agree that they would like to NOT see movies listed with less than 2 stars or movies older than 1980

Last time I checked I think he did do this. I may be talking about something else but I think you can filter by star rating and by year.

Really!? I wonder why I'm not seeing it. Maybe I don't have the latest build? Can somebody please confirm? This would certainly be great!

Just confirmed... In Malore's latest import, you can use the filters to 'group by' and 'sort by' both year and star rating.

Snoopy, we've been able to do groupby/sortby star rating and year for a relatively long time. There's a big difference between that and Star Rating/Year FILTERING. I knew it was too good to be true.

Anyway, what I'm asking for is to not display movies which are older than a user defined year or less than a user defined star rating.

Very few people care to see movies displayed in their guide that are from 1956 or a movie with a 1 star rating Especially, when the guide is sorted by date.

Hopefully, this will get Malore's attention

The problem is that football is a subcategory of several different categories. So there probably isn't an easy fix to this, but if you change the grouping to group by category you'll be able to look at just the sports events.

Thanks Malore--I played around with the filtering and used "don't like" and chose to display only "don't like" and it seems to be working. All that comes up now is: NFL Football and College Football . All the talk shows are eliminated.

Though, I'm feeling generous and may look into implementing the year filter.

I didn't see anyone asking for this again, but I would love to have your view scheduled recordings back in the Custom Menus, with the normal one where it is - with the new 4.0 there's only the one in Scheduled Recordings. The reason for this is that I typically like to view the upcoming recording in two ways - first in your (malore) way, in order to eliminate any duplicate recordings coming up from favorites, then in the traditional Sage way just to see if the Sage is recording anything say tonight and if so when and what. I never realized how much I used the two views together until they were reduced to one...

In the default STV, you can reach the Custom Menus from the Schedule Recordings menu; I think malore moved it to the Main Menu in his version. So, you should be able to do what you want in either STV.

Will you soon be updating to the 4.1.3 version stv, or more accurate xml.
I would like to upgrade to the latest version but am hesitant to do this as I like your stv but would not gain much with the new version if I install an older stv on it that does not support any new features of the xml.
