Problems since reinitialising

Hi

Been running sage for ages, 2.2.2 Beta for ages until about a month ago, then upgraded to official release, been downloading my EPG data via xmltv and the bleb data source.

Was advised to switch back to Radio Times as an xml data source as I was experiencing problems with the bleb source.

Due to duplicate channel numbers etc. I deleted wiz.bin and sage.properties.

Reinitialized without incident. XMLTV Radio Times downloads working no problem.

Since the reinitialize, every 24 hours or so, I get 'slow motion' video and audio. This problem does not seem to be linked to EPG update or download times.

If I select a different video codec and restart Media Player then switch back to my regular Nvidia codec, everything works fine again.

Having investigated this further, I suspect that it may be linked to the USBUIRT as the glitches ''seem'' to start when a chennel change is due.

Any ideas?

Steve

I'm not sure if I completely understood your problem description of the symptoms, but its quite possible that you have an IRQ semi-conflict. For what it's worth, I did seem to have some similar problems (being that I suspected USB was involved). You don't happen to have an Intel motherboard do you? The box I run as a sage server/client is an intel D845GBV and its always had weird USB problems -- back when I ran sage on my desktop with a wireless mouse, sometimes I'd get crashes and then the mouse wouldn't work, etc. If you narrow this down more do report back, because while my virgin install is now working flawlessly, my USBUIRT died, and Im waiting for a replacement, so who knows if my setup will be stable when the replacement comes in.

thx

Cory

Hi

What I was trying to say in my original post was that the only change between a long-term fully operational system and my now broken system was deleting the wiz.bin and sage.properties and reinitializing. Also the change of EPG data source which presumably runs different code (and might potentially be causing problems).

There are no hardware changes whatsoever.

The setup went through without a hitch.

I'm not sure if it's related, but last night I noticed that the port for the USBUIRT was not set to USB in the Commands section of the setup, I've now set it (but not yet rebooted) and am still experiencing problems when changing channels.

Previously, when I reboot, I don't experience any problems or delays with changing channels for almost 24 hours.

It's a strange one.

Steve
