Dammit! oddly, I could swear that I was able to train with the uirt. Maybe it was the actisys that I had back in the day..I know that someone in this thread can take 2 seconds to get the ir code.
Im sure that after someone gets me that, it will be somewhat of a quick solution... I. Quote:

I am almost positive I don't have a 56k usbuirt. This post describes how I created the dish ir files. -gary- |

No luck. If you could take a few minutes to get the up/down codes from your setup and post them, it would be much appreciated

I appreciate the folks that have been thinking about how to do this by entering the "up" or "down" command via the USBUIRT or EXETuner, but that doesn't really work. The problem is that this error happens via Intelligent Recording, and it quite frequently occurs at 3:00 in the morning. Sage tries to pick up a channel that you don't subscribe to, and then Dish will not move off that channel until you press up or down on the Dish remote. You wouldn't normally want to push the up or down, just in this one case. I guess you could set up your channel changes so that it ALWAYS goes up a channel before it enters the actual channel you want, but that seems silly and would unecessary delays in channel changes. With the delay between Sage / USBUIRT / Dish receiver, I'm already watching the channel change during my recorded shows, I definitely don't want to add to that.
I really think the solution is to have new channels NOT automatically made active. I don't know if that's something that has to be done by Sage, or if it can be done via Studio, but I do believe that's the solution. |

doesnt work for you, but is a great workaround for me. for me, my sage server and sat boxes are in my detatched garage. When it changes channels and gets stuck, I need to go outside, into my garage, and manually change the channel. Hence my interrest in a workaround.

We really need a fix for the guide autocrash feature. In the meantime, I started to think about this and need to understand some things. We are trying to find a way to send an up-down toggle for every channel change? Attached is an ir file where 0 is the up command and 1 is down. I can't test it because I am disconnected from the dish, hopefully temporarily. I don't see how you are going to use it. -gary- |

thx...ill see what I can come up with.
I was thinking more along the line of mapping some buttons to the up/down commands. If this can be done, then at least you will not need the dish remote to get it out of the stuck error screen, etc.. I. Quote:

a) to have Sage stop automatically adding new channels to the lineup, and b) have a way to "recover" the satellite box using insomniac's idea of issuing a CH change command -Chris |
