Alpha Transport Stream capture plugin...

I have a alpha-test-"Test at your own risk" HDNECapture.DLL file that captures the full TS stream - not a demultiplexed PS stream. I was testing it this morning at home with some blow-ups. I think recording will work fine - LiveTV seemed to have an issue this morning.

I am at work and not able to test here.

Can someone give it a try?

Backup your working HDNECapture.DLL FIRST!!!

Thanks -
Stealth

Let me know if there's anything I can do to get you better debug info.
I have know seen this on my setup over time too... I am still looking into it - I saw the Sage debug info and the Control Panel output. I really need your HDNE.Debug.txt file too. (unless I missed it earlier)

Thanks in advance -

regarding the alpha HDNEcapture.dll

The first channel I tried I got a "There was a problem accessing the file" error. The times I tried after that, Sage froze on me for about 1 min. Haven't tried recording something without watching yet...

The dll records just fine and plays back in zoomplayer but unfortunatly not sage no matter what I tried. I recieved the file system error trying to play. The same also happened trying to playback .ts files recorded with my old AccessDTV card.

Great - thats the info I was looking for! I have pre-release Sage demux dlls that I will try later to playback in Sage. I have been informed that they should handle the TS stream files and allow you to select PIDs.

So... if those prerelease demux dlls work, are we going to be able to get a hold of them? Or do we have to wait for the next release (of Sage)?

Not sure if that was for me but yes, I used that alpha dll file. Sage still records using .mpg as the extension not .ts. However the new dll also freezes sage when canceling the recording causing me to kill both sage and hdne proccesses.

Not sure - I need to check with the Sage team about that - I think they said they would consider a patch release to get them.

How much larger do you expect the file sizes to be by capturing the entire TS stream? I had a 90 min recording set with the alpha dll to see if it would record properly, and I noticed the file size was 20 gb. Is this typical and should this increase in filesize vary by channel?

it will vary by channel due to the actual pids in the stream. IE if you record pbs with the 4 subs all in hd youll get one huge file.

OTA HD is generally about 9GB/hr for the whole stream.

Just getting into this stuff, so apologies if I don't have all the lingo down yet. I have an Aver180 HDTV card. If I understand coorectly though from what I am reading here, it appears that this card doesn't work in Sage yet - even with the HDTV Network Encoder program?
