XVID? Anyone?

Has anyone been able to use the Sage Encoder to convert using XVID? If so, what versions?

Whenever I try it, I get:

VirtualDub Error

Cannot open file "c":
The system cannot find the path specified.

I will attach the error message as well as pictures of my settings.

Any help is most appreciated!

trying Sage Encoder for the first time, I'm getting stuck getting it installed. The direction says:
Quote:
a) Right Click in the menu/submenu you want to add the encoding option.
b) Choose Add New Menu Item > External Program
c) Then, for external program, use: cmd.exe
d) Then for arguments/parameters use: /C "C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\STVs\OriginalV2\cayars\External\Encode.cmd"
(you can copy this line, then use the Paste From Clipboard option)
e) Then enter the menu title/text to show: ie, Encode and Publish
f) Then once your done, right click again and now Save Menu Definition File.
For whatever reason, after choosing Add New Menu Item, then External Program, I browsed to Encode.cmd or cmd.exe, but I can't load it. When I click on either file, nothing happens. It doesn't move to the argument/parameters settings window. Any ideas anyone?

And I'm also, interested in Xvid conversion. Is there a way to get SageEncoder to use AutoGK instead of Virtualdub?

It looks like there is encoding support built in to V5.1 so you might want to hang on for the beta before spending too much time getting this working.

which version of virtual dub are you using? If it's a newer version it could be that the argument string is wrong...

wmcmd.vbs cannot be found?

Hi there, I'm having trouble with the final step in the whole encoding process.
I've installed dirmon, and this runs showanalyzer to create the Vprj files.
Sage Encoder picks up on these files and runs VideoReDo to create the trimmed version of the .mpg.
However, when it comes to converting it to a WMV using Windows Media Encoder, I get this error:

24/11/2006 12:07:18 AM: Encoding file...
"tvshows.prx" or "wmcmd.vbs" cannot be found, cannot encode!

I've checked the WME Location in the Setup:
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder\WMCmd.vbs

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I still have not figured out how to do this. If I am remote, and use the web interface to select a show for encoding, then I later want to use the web interface to get this encoded version, how do I do this? How do I include my Sage directories to be listed by the webserver?

Thanks!

Invalid command passed

I installed everything as described, but when I tried it out (selecting a recording, then "encode with sage encoder", I get a screen saying "invalid command passed." Web triggers are enabled in the encoder setup.

Your dredging up a post from 4 years ago. No wonder the command doesn't work. Have you tried going into the Advanced Details of the default STV and doing a convert on the video? There are plenty of formats to choose from that are built-in.

I have no problem converting that way or with the "convert" command in the web server; it's just using the Sage Encoder through the webserver that isn't working. I was hoping to be able to be able to use the webserver to do low-bandwidth viewing remotely, and it seemed that the Encoder would do that - but maybe not...
