I haven't heard a thing. I had some log files from some of them that converted successfully, and some that didn't but I've just checked and I must have deleted them. The interesting thing about them was that they showed that Sage had received some sort of 'stop' signal and thought the conversion was finished - both in the ones that worked and the ones that didn't.

I did end up purchasing Sage anyhow since it's the only PVR software I could find that could be made to use Canadian episode guides.

On the ones that did work, I wasn't happy with the quality of the capture. I found I got much better results quality-wise by saving as 'best' quality MPEG-2 and then using Virtualdub or Dr. DivX to convert it to DIVX although the quality was still less than I expected.

On another note, I did find out why the file sizes were so much larger than I expected - it's because the audio is not compressed. Does anyone know if there is an option within Sage that I've missed that allows me to compress the audio as the file is being captured?

Korben had mentioned that he was opening a bug report. I was hoping he'd post anything he found out...

I haven't heard anything back yet, but since that was w/ the 2.2.6 Beta, there isn't any reason I would hear back. From reading through Narflex's beta fixes, looks like he is usually 2-3 betas behind on fixing issues, which if you consider how quickly the beta RC's are released, is pretty impressive. Frey did say they were working w/ Plextor and DivX on the various ConvertX issues, so hopefully we'll see some traction on these in 2.2.1 (which would actually be 2.2.8 )

edit: Did get one DivX-recorded program audio out of sync, and still have unconverted .tmp files in 2.2

I just noticed this problem as well - although I am only seeing a .tmp file for about 10% of my total DivX recordings. I am puzzled how SageTV can play these 'DivX' .mpg files while no other video player can...even the Intervideo WinDVD creator can't open them...has anybody tried contacting Plextor tech support on this problem?

We'll never know until some SageTV person tells us here in their own forums. This subject has been open for ages, they sell the 402 at their SageTV shop, and have proclaimed that it works fine.

I'm not going to post about this anymore because it's just whining now.

Other media players can't play the DivX .mpg files because they are proprietary, so to speak, for SageTV to be able to do LiveTV & timeshifting on the file. And .mpg isn't a real container format like .avi, which can have pretty much any video codec mixed with any audio codec.
