The decoders use DXVA hardware assisted decoding, so they should both be around the same CPU usage...

The DXVA is a product of directx, so it should work the same on your ati.

but the nvidia decoder only supports nvidia cards.

That's not true, who told you that? I've used my 9800pro with the Nvidia DVD decoder and it worked perfectly. There was no noticable differenct in CPU usage.

ok because when I was about to download it had a list of supported cards and all of them were nvidia.

It should work fine with all dvxa enabled video cards... I even noticed that perpixel deinterlacing is also supported, whereas my Nvidia MX 440 doesn't support that.

You'll still be able to choose your old decoder too, so it should be easy to do your testing. You'll want to set Sage to use the default mpeg2 decoder, then pull up the Nvidia control panel by double clicking the tray icon, once video is playing. Then you can the properties to your liking.

well it didn't work. What can be wrong, all the other apps work fine but this one's video and audio just lock up. Then I always have to restart the app.

I wish I had something specific to tell you... Which version are you running? Perhaps you can try the beta 2.2.6 to see if it's any different.

I get an error -20 no valid media player or something with beta 2.2.6
