HDMI To Component Converters
Has anyone tried to use a HDMI to component conversation box? If so, did it work very well, especially with protected content?

I've been successfully using this for over a year on Time Warner with an HD-PVR: http://www.amazon.com/Portta-PETHRV-...rds=B00J22LGYG
Time Warner sets the copy flags on all non-local channels.

I've spent more money on HDMI to Component converters than I care to talk about (I also own one that looks exactly like the one in that link). I have yet to find an inexpensive one that doesn't ruin the colors in the picture in one way or another. I have tried adjusting the colors on the HD-PVR, but I have never been able to get it looking acceptable.

I have one similar to this that works very well (5.1 audio via optical);
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dual-HDMI-To...QAAOSwuMFUZWtV When I purchased it, I paid about 30 bucks as I recall. If I were to purchase another today, I'd probably try this one; <Link removed, good point in that next posts, ENE> There is no RCA audio on the more recent option. Anything that converts from HDMI to Component HD will not experience any limitations by protected content. Last edited by KryptoNyte; 06-10-2016 at 08:11 PM. |

... and if you're willing to risk the power cord situation, which may or may not come with it (check shipping cost);
