Adding an IP Camera to Sage

Anyone know a way that I can take an IP camera, that monitors the backyard swimming pool, and have it show up in the EPG?

I know we can make custom sources and can have those sources in the EPG to "watch", but I can't figure out how to turn an IP streaming feed into something Sage sees as a tuner.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Stacy

Either use a capture card and a Lioopback channel, or

You can use WFE (WebFeedEncoder). I use WFE and it works awesome for my needs. Search the forums and you'll surely find the thread from Michael. The awesome dev that put this together.

I think he's not hanging in the forums any more. Sent a PM, but haven't got any response.

I have it installed, but I can't figure a way to get a web cam. In addition, I tried just putting NASA-TV, but it doesn't show up on my sage.

I no longer have this setup, but i was able to get this working with WFE last summer by using ZoneMinder.

Basically, ZoneMinder handled the IP camera feed, and i pointed WFE at the 'live' page for the camera for ZoneMinder.

ZoneMinder is quite painful to get installed and working however, at least when i last used it. But the nice thing is that it gave a video feed that WFE was happy with. My camera had no audio, so i don't know if that was working or not. It took a good 15-20 seconds to tune to the 'channel' in the guide.

ZoneMinder requires a linux host O/S, which i setup as a virtual machine in ESXi.
